Tzohar for the Bereaved

We’re here for you

Tzohar is here to support you when you’ve lost a loved one.

We’re here to make sure you’re not alone, to give honor to the loved one who has passed away, and to help you carry out all of the associated practical and spiritual steps – before the funeral, during the service itself, and throughout the mourning period. Our services are provided free of charge by Tzohar rabbis specially trained to support families during their time of grieving.

How can we help?

We’re available to:

  • Help you organize the funeral
  • Provide guidance and support before the funeral
  • Conduct the funeral ceremony itself. A certified Tzohar rabbi can come to you, anywhere in Israel, to conduct the service.
  • Assistance with Borrowing Equipment for Mourners
  • Support you during the week of shiva, including visits and an optional learning session in memory of the deceased
  • Organize and/or conduct a memorial ceremony at the end of the shiva week
  • Recruit volunteers to recite Kaddish
  • Organize and/or conduct a memorial ceremony at the end of the Shloshim or the tombstone unveiling
  • Provide ongoing emotional and spiritual support throughout the mourning period
  • Provide telephone guidance on laws and customs of mourning
  • Organize and/or conduct yearly memorial services (Yahrzeit / Azkara)

Whatever support you need, we’re here. We’ve been in mourning ourselves, are experienced in helping families, and are dedicated to helping you, every step of the way.
